William "Buddy" S. Wright Obituary

William "Buddy" S. Wright peacefully passed away on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Baptist DeSoto Hospital. He was 85 years old.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Jo Wright; daughter, Teresa Stone; his son, Marty Wright; cherished grandchildren, Phillip Stone, Amanda Stone, and Tiffany Sanchez (married to Jose); and his precious great-grandchildren, Parker Williams, Leilani Sanchez, and Luke Sanchez.

Buddy's life was a testament to the power of love and family. He found immense joy in spending time with his grandchildren, showering them with affection and wisdom that will be treasured for generations to come. His unconditional love knew no bounds, and his presence brought light and warmth to every family gathering.

In addition to his devotion to family, Buddy had a passion for collecting coins and knives, finding joy in the stories they told and the history they held. He was also an avid fan of Westerns, finding solace and entertainment in the tales of the Old West. His love for storytelling extended beyond the screen, as he delighted in sharing his own experiences and memories with anyone willing to listen.

But perhaps Buddy's most enduring legacy was his unwavering kindness and generosity. He possessed a rare gift for making everyone he encountered feel welcomed and valued. He never met a stranger and was always quick to lend a helping hand to those in need, embodying the true spirit of compassion and empathy.

Buddy was preceded in death by his father, Leon Wright; his mother, Pauline Holiday, and her husband, Harold Holiday, who lovingly raised Buddy as his son; his sister, Martha Chapman; his brothers, Lawrence Wright, Junior Holiday, and Billy Wayne Holiday and his son, Michael Shea Wright. Though they have gone before him, their love and memories will forever remain in Buddy's heart.

As we mourn the loss of this remarkable man, let us also celebrate the richness of his life and the profound impact he had on all who knew him. Buddy's spirit will continue to live on in the countless lives he touched, serving as a guiding light of love and compassion.

Though our hearts ache with grief, we take solace in knowing that Buddy has found eternal peace, surrounded by the love of those who went before him. Rest in peace, dear Buddy. Your memory will forever be a blessing to us all.
